Recently Vice President Wang Wei met with the visiting delegation of the Soong Ching Ling Foundation led by Ms. Li Xiaofen.
Mr. Wang Wei extends his warm welcome to the delegation and gives them a briefing on the history of NPU and its characteristics. The purpose of their visit is to investigate and discuss how to jointly sponsor the 2011 Yangguang (sunshine) International Exchange Camp. The exchange camp is jointly sponsored by the Soong Ching Ling Foundation of China, Si Erhao International Education Foundation and the Chinese universities.
Its objectives are to enhance undergraduates' ability to communicate internationally, cultivate their interpersonal communication and cooperation and boost their adaptability, employment and leadership. If the exchange camp is held at NPU, nearly 500 students from universities at home and abroad will come to NPU to receive the training for 10 days.
Ms. Li Xiaofen presents the profile of the Soong Ching Ling Foundation, hoping to cooperate with NPU more extensively and more fruitfully. Ms. Yang Guo Yuzhen Messrs. Jonathon Nowlen and Christopher from the Shanghai branch of the international education foundation, Chen Hongliang, vice dean of School of International Education, and Yan Yuzhou, deputy director of Office of Student Affairs are present at the meeting.
