President Chen Chunyang attended 2008 CTU/JTU Global Alumni Business Leader Summit

As the TaiwanXinzhuChiaoTungUniversity celebrated its 50th anniversary, 2008 CTU/JTU Global Alumni Business Leader Summit was held in XinzhulChiaoTungUniversity. President Chen Chunyang led on the SWJTU delegation and attended this grand gathering. Nine alumni of SWJTU also attended.

CTU/JTU Global Alumni Business Leader Summit is held once a year. This is the fourth one; the previous ones were held in BeijingJiaotongUniversity, ShanghaiJiaotongUniversity, and Xi an Jiaotong University respectively. 2009 CTU/JTU Global Alumni Business Leader Summit will be in our university. On the opening ceremony President of Xinzhu Chiao Tung University and the president of CTU/JTU Tanwan Alumni Association delivered their Welcoming Speeches. Delegates of BeijingJiaotongUniversity, ShanghaiJiaotongUniversity, and Xi an Jiaotong University also attended the summit.

President Chen Chunyang gave a speech at the opening ceremony, and congratulated on the opening of the summit. In his speech, he introduced the achievements of SWJTU and he also brought up the new perspective of CTU s/JTU s development towards the new historical opportunities and challenges. He pointed out that all global CTU/JTU alumni should strengthen communication and cooperation and seek common development. The concept of Alumni Team should be emphasized when developing markets. Between alumni and their alma maters new technologies and new trends should be exchanged and shared. Five universities should realize the complementarities of advantages based on their own uniqueness to develop a brand of CTU/JTU and become an important force for our great national rejuvenation.

Since next summit will be held in our university, President Chen sincerely welcomes alumni and trade leaders both home and broad to SWJTU to seek new development.

The summit consisted of three forums. President Chen and the delegates of our university attended the summit entitled The Influence of Construction of High-Speed Railway on development of Society & Economy.

During the time in Taiwan, our delegates were invited to attend the various celebrating activities.
