Visit of Delegates from Poly Campus, New York University

On November 30^th, 2009, Iraj Kalkhoran and Sunil Kumar, Dean of Undergraduate Education Department and Dean of Graduate Education Department of Poly Campus, New York University respectively, together with Li Tianyi, member of Chinese Affairs Department, paid a visit to Southwest Jiaotong University. At the Academic Communication Center, the three delegates met Qiu Yanjun and He Ping, Director and Deputy Director of International Affairs Office respectively, Han Xudong, Director Assistant of Dean s Office, Li Yuanfu, Vice Dean of School of Civil Engineering, and several other professors from different schools.

Poly Campus, New York University set up the cooperation with Southwest Jiaotong University as to 1+2+1 Program five years ago, and since then the yearly visit of the delegates from Poly Campus carried on. This year the discussion focuses on the credit-acknowledgement and curriculum cohesion. In the meeting, the American university firstly introduced their cultivation plan, which was followed by the discussion of credit-acknowledgement with the teachers from School of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and School of Information Science and Technology of Southwest Jiaotong University.

The meeting came to its end at 3:00pm, with the workout of student cultivation plan between Poly Campus, New York University and the four schools of Southwest Jiaotong University.
