Visit to Hanoi Jiaotong University

From November 6^th to 11^th, 2009, five delegates led by Prof. Gu Liya, secretary of SWJTU CPC committee, paid a friendly visit to Hanoi Jiaotong University, Vietnam. During the visit, Secretary Gu Liya met Chen Deshi and Chen Junxia, president and director of HanoiJiaotongUniversity respectively. They held discussion on how to develop the friendship, extend the cooperation, establish the scientific and technology forum, and celebrated the 10^th anniversary of the cooperation between SWJTU and Hanoi Jiaotong University.

On November 6^th, Chen Junxia, director of Hanoi University, met the delegation in Hu Zhiming Campus in person; meanwhile, several other deans also participated in the discussion. Director Chen Junxia expressed the wish of further cooperation in staff exchange, academic exchange, the cooperation between SouthwestJiaotongUniversity, HanoiJiaotongUniversity and MoscowRoadJiaotongUniversity and the English version of School Journal as well. On November 8^th, the delegation met the representatives of excellent international graduates and of parents. The formal negotiation was held on November 9^th and the cooperation in teaching, research and management was discussed.

On November 11^th, the delegation went to Nanjing, Jiang Su province, and there they met, Chen Boshi, director of Nanjing Railway Department, and secretary Mo Zhong. Director Chen Boshi presented the delegation with the status quo of Nanjing Railway Department. The two parties finally agreed on the establishment of partnership for the sake of comprehensive development.

During this visit, the delegation also met the alumni in Guangxi Province. With fruitful results, the delegation came back on November 12^th, 2009.
