SCUT 2010 New Year Concert held

On the evening of Dec. 31, SCUT 2010 New Year Concert was held at the Academic Hall, South Campus.

Before the concert, ZHANG Zhenggang, vice president, delivered New Year speech on behalf of WANG Yingjun, chairman of the University Affairs Committee, and LI Yuanyuan, president of SCUT.

The concert was unveiled by the magnificent symphony, Ode to Red Flag. Compared with that of last year, this year's concert is embodied with richer SCUT characteristics. The second half of the concert began with the choral symphony, Fountain of the Years---dedicated to the educated youth, performed by SCUT Youth Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and Choir. Fountain of the Years, directed and performed by SCUT and featuring rich Lingnan regional flavor and the epic-like pattern, reproduced the unforgettable course of China's educated youth.

The concert culminated in Orpheus Overture, enjoyable atmosphere spreading all over the hall.
