On April 5, 2010, Department of Nursing of Tongji Medical College, School of Nursing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University and World Health Organization community health service cooperation center jointly held 2010 Nurse Specialist Workshop in the meeting center in Building 2, Tongji Medical College.
In Attendence at the opening ceremony were Prof. Wang Guocheng, Vice President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Prof. Peng Meici, Dean of the School of Nursing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Dr. Jeannine Forrest, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Biobehavioral Health Science from College of Nursing of University of Illinois at Chicago, Mr. Jeff Evans, senior lecturer from the School of Health, Athletics and Science of the University Glamorgan, UK, Prof. Li Peigen, President of HUST, Prof. Feng Gansheng, Vice Dean of Tongji Medcial College, Mr. Chen Jianguo, Executive Vice-Dean of Office of Science and Technology Development, Mr. Wan Kaiyuan, Executive Vice-Dean of The Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office, Prof. Mao Jing, Department of Nursing of Tongji Medical College along with many specialists and scholars in Specialty of Nursing nationwide.
During the one-day workshop, six topics including health care studies, damage nursing outline, community nursing workshop design, problem-based learning, palliative care and clinic were exchanged and discussed.
Right after that, Department of Nursing of Tongji Medical College signed an agreement of collaboration with the Digital Health Medical Treatment Center of the School of Nursing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In order to develop health information teaching, nursing specialist training, work together in the R&D of new tactics and pursue high-standard level nursing practice, both sides will collaborate in forming an inter-discipline health medical treatment team consisting of senior professional nurses, doctors of traditional Chinese medicine, nutritionists and engineers.
Mr. Wang Guocheng, Vice President of Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Peng Meici, Dean of the School of Nursing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University were appointed Guest Professors by HUST.
