USTC Met the 11th Culture Festival of Students Societies

USTC's 11th Culture Festival of Students Society got a grand opening on Oct. 24th of 2010 at the Students Center in the west campus. The theme of festival was "Colorful Arena of Societies, Flying Dream in USTC". During the opening ceremony, a simulated cross-country race was held as a startup of series of events of the festival.

As a classical competition of USTC's Scientific Expedition Society, the simulated cross-country race had been successfully held with some different courses for seven times since 2000. And for the participants, they must have a good basis of stamina, meanwhile, pay attention to the cooperation and coordination of their team. For this year, there were 20 group teams from different students societies and 23 personal players. The Group team "Huyouyou" got the first place, while "Sky Shining" won the champion of personal players.

USTC's Culture Festival of Students Society was held every year. It has become the star activity of the campus culture. It is quite popular and supported by our faculty and students. The festival has earned a good reputation inside and outside of campus, often under the spotlights of national and local medias. It was awarded as "excellently-organized campus activity" by Central Committee of the Communist Youth League Ministry of Education, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, All-China Students Federation etc.

The goal of Culture Festival of Students Society is to encourage the different students societies to follow the guideline of education for all-round development, to demonstrate the talent and spirits of today's university students, and to show the youth and energy of the societies of USTC via various activities.

The culture festival would last for more than a month. About 50 topic activities will be launched during the festival in USTC.
