Beijing's Today Art Museum hosted their Shine Project recently, drawing attention to traditional forms of art, such as poetry.

"Poetry is not dead," Wang Shuo, director of the Shine Project told the Global Times. "The original idea to hold the event was to commemorate poetry, a literary composition, with friends who are keen to learn more about literature."

Almost 150 people joined to hear 10 poets from the 1980s and some from today share their works, including poet

nd painter Yu Xinqiao and Da Xian, poet and columnist.

A live evening program included poetry reading, music performance and a 3D video projection on the huge red-bricked wall of the museum.

Also falling on the 70th birthday of John Lennon, the project took time out to review his life with different art forms including multimedia, poetry, music and discussions.
