The fourth China Psychologists Forum began Sunday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, attracting around 1,000 psychologists, management staff and mental health professionals to discuss the importance of employees' states of mind and their impact in the workplace.
Psychologists from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan, representing a range of fields including crime, suicide prevention and business management, will present their findings in 20 conferences over three days.
"The development and stability of a business do not only rely on improving employees' skills and knowledge, but also their mental health," said Zhang Kan, president of the International Union of Psychological Science in China, at the opening ceremony.
A conference featuring discussions between psychologists, management staff and business executives will be held tomorrow, focusing on the innovation and art of business management.
Organized by the Institute of Psychology at Chinese Academy of Science, the annual forum aims at spreading and promoting psychology in society, according to the organizers.
