New contemporary art award

Following a range of international and domestic business involvements in artistic sponsorship in China, America-based motorbike company Harley-Davison also recently enrolled itself into the activity.
"From the East to the West" is a new award aiming to encourage young talents and bring the "inspiration of art" into the design of the brand, according to Sean Jiang, managing director of Harley Davidson China.
A judging panel including famous artist Xu Lei, Meg Maggio, founder of the Pekin Fine Arts gallery and arts patron Zhao Xu will work on the evaluation process, aiming to select works that best represent today's young Chinese creativity.
Works awarded will be exhibited in several museums and galleries in America, with the artists invited to come and speak and exchange ideas.
