Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, China Oil Painting Society and Beijing Fine Art Academy, a Chinese oil painting exhibition entitled Art of Oil Painting and Contemporary Society is currently on display as the largest of this kind in terms of the number of exhibits and the scale.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of China Oil Painting Society. The exhibition is an academic show for research on the new topic of the development of the Chinese oil painting in the new era as well as a concentrated exhibition of the related artworks. The exhibits comprise a total of 246 artworks chosen from more than 3600 candidates across the country.
Chief of China Oil Painting Society pointed that the development of the times requires the Chinese oil paintings to have more concern about the Chinese contemporary society. The works are required to not only reflect the contemporary social life but also go deep into the spiritual dimension of the modern society for closer contact with each other. The artistic creation is important and representative part of the spiritual dimension of the current society as a way to reflect the internal world of the contemporary Chinese people.
The exhibition will open at Hall 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 until Nov. 25.
