An exhibition entitled The scenery f the harvest is currently on display to showcase almost a total of 30 artworks by Xu Zhiguang in recent years, most of which are focused on the apple tree and the ideal world.
Born in 1973, Xu Zhiguang is one of the young powerful painters in the modern time. The artist has integrated the feature particular in those from Shandong province into his artworks, namely, the persistence and the simplicity and has created a series of landscape oil paintings with the theme of the apple tree and the ideal world.
Fan Di an, director of the National Art Museum of China, once said, Xu Zhiguang is an artist with high sense for the color, an important talent that supports his painting style ..the sense for the color and the capability to control the color is one of his strongpoint. He has always attached great importance to researches on the artistic image and the linguistic feature of the traditional Chinese painting and has attempted to combine the structure of both the Chinese painting with the oil painting. Such combination is filled with expression and emotion.
The exhibition opens at Hall 4 until Jan. 19, 2011.
