Boeing s 787 Dreamliner marked its 1,000th flight yesterday, a milestone in the flight test programme.
The 787 flight test airplane ZA004 landed at 1pm MST at Yuma International Airport and was recorded as the 1,000th flight. There are a total of seven airplanes taking part in the flight testing programme. Scott Fancher, vice president and general manager, 787 programme, was quoted in eTurbo News as having said that they were getting through the test conditions needed to certify the airplane. Nearly 80% of the conditions for the first model with Rolls-Royce engines were already complete and they were more than 60% of the way through the test conditions for the 787s with General Electric engines.
The flight test programme is nearing its 3,000th hour of flying and 787 aircrafts have flown a total of more than one million miles.
