Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced it will introduce in-flight mobile phone service and internet access from May this year.
The service will be launched with the A380 fleet. The carrier is looking at possible pricing options such as a low cost package that offers access to Webmail services as well as 30MG of download for SG$25 or AU$20, according to The Australian Business Traveller, as reported by eTravel Blackboard.
Passengers will be able to access the service from a smartphone or laptop; the airline said it would support connections through both Wi-Fi wireless networking and 3G. Singapore Airlines recently conducted a poll among its members asking for their opinion on rates for the service to be offered.
