A recent survey by international flight comparison site, Skyscanner, hailed Emirates as the airline that serves the best food in the air.
A total of 1,200-respondents participated in the said survey to rate the in-flight meals of 35-airlines based on three categories: taste, presentation and choice. Emirates economy class in-flight meals consist of three-course meals that include entrees such as lamb marinated in Arabic spices accompanied by peppers and other vegetables, and grilled chicken breast with caramelised plums and mashed potatoes. Barry Smith, director, Skyscanner, was quoted in eGlobal Travel Media as having said that airline food was notorious for being bland and perhaps it was the use of these strong eastern flavours and spices that was contributing to the popularity.
The top ten highest scoring airlines consist of Emirates, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Aeroflot, Qatar, Malaysia Airlines, Thai Airways, Etihad, KLM, and Air France, respectively.
