Malaysia will be home to Asia s first Legoland theme park. The theme park, 31-hectares big, will be located in Iskandar Malaysia economic zone in the southern state of Johor, near Singapore. The construction costs are pegged to be around US$236-million and work on the development project will commence in March. According to a report in Travel Daily Asia, it will feature 40-rides and models made from Lego bricks, an estimated 30-million of which will be shipped to Malaysia to build the models. A Lego replica of the Petronas Twin Towers is on the cards as well.
This new Legoland theme park in Malaysia will be the sixth in the world, following existing parks in Denmark, the UK, US and Germany.
