ETOA expects low numbers during Games

The European Tour Operators Association (ETOA) has released a report that shows that more British nationals are likely to travel abroad when the 2012 Olympic Games come to London.

A survey conducted on British and Ireland Marketplace attendees has shown that forward bookings are down 50% for London 2012, as compared to 2011. This has led ETOA to conclude that a number of tour operators have taken London and the UK out of their tour portfolio. Tom Jenkins, executive director, ETOA, was quoted in Travel Daily UK as having said that much of this long-haul business, amounting to over one-million clients, was lost.
