On March, 29, 1911 of traditional Chinese calendar, the members of
the United League (Tung Meng Hui), rose in arms, led by Sun
Yat-sen, the great predecessor of Chinese revolution for democracy.
Though the uprising turned out to be a failure at last, the spirit
of those 72 martyrs is striking. After the foundation of the
People’s Republic of China, a special commemorating park was built
to memorize the martyrs buried in Huang Hua Gang who sacrificed in
the Guangzhou rebel.
