Just 120 km from Beijing, an intangible cultural heritage museum that opened on May 1 showcases 600-year-old Tianjin's folk art and ballads.
The creative process for various forms of intangible cultural heritage and folk customs are on show through texts, pictures, artifacts and performances.
Tianjin was home to Zhang Mingshan, whose painted clay figurine Weaving Women won first prize at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915.
