China First Metallurgical Construction Corporation (CFMCC) announced on March 25 that, the Construction & Installation Company of CFMCC received 3 new patent grants from State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), which was expected to further enhance the market competitiveness of the company.
In May 2008, the Company submitted applications to SIPO on the following three patent claims: (i) tension rod for formwork-support in construction of concrete structure; (ii) adjustable mould board for construction of multiple-camber concrete structure; and (iii) cushion block of high bearing capacity for reinforcing steel bar. After strict review and assessment, the certificates of patent property were issued days ago. During the normal construction, the cushion block for covering layer of reinforcing steel bar is usually frangible and/or erodible. By using the blocks, such problems will be effectively resolved. During cutting process for the ends of tension rod, the surface structure might be damaged and thus affect the anti-permeability, such a drawback will be well tackled by utilizing the new tension rod. For construction of multiple-camber concrete structure, the curvature variation often brings about technical problems for framework supporting, but with the novel mould board, these problems can be easily handled.
