The construction works of Freight Station in Western Freight Zone, which is part of the expansion project of Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport contracted by MCC Chenggong Construction Co., Ltd. (5MCC) Shanghai Branch, was commenced on April 15, 2009. Vice Chief Hu Jianming of Hongqiao Airport Construction Headquarters, Vice General Manager Tian Shun of 5MCC Shanghai Branch and General Manager Gan Xingyou of the Construction Subsidiary were present at the commencement ceremony.
As one of the critical milestones incorporated in the expansion of the airport and the overall transportation grid renovation in Hongqiao, this works consists of several integrated parts (such as civil works, installation, municipal engineering and steel structure works) and is featured by: (i) short construction period; (ii) various professional expertise; (iii) many interlude works; (iv) quite a deal of Critical Control Points for construction; (v) complicated coordination matters; and (vi) high requirements on quality and safety.
At the ceremony, Manager Li Ming of Project Division of 5MCC Shanghai Branch said that his team would formulate and take corresponding measures for project implementation and technical management, and endeavor to focus on lean management so as to ensure smooth progressing of this project.
