Prof. Yu Dan Gives a Lecture in Hunan University

On the evening of Dec. 14, the well-known scholar Prof. Yu Dan, as one of the honored invitee at the Symposium of "My Favorite Teachers", gave a lecture in Hunan University. She interpreted the Chinese classics of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism in modern contexts with straightway stories. After the lecture, she was invited as an off-campus advisor of Hunan University.

Prof. Yu believes that one of the important things college students should do is to learn how to design their life. "A good mastery of professional knowledge enables you to get ideal scores and maybe to get a good job, but the 'design' in my eyes indicates a broad heart and nice qualities. One who thirsts for freedom and desires to live without being fettered should have that kind of design."

At the end of the lecture, Prof. Yu hopes that college students can make a promise for their life in the name of culture to be a person with a big design and to improve the society with an idealist heart.
