HAIFC Promotes Exchanges Between Hunan and Foreign Countries

The 2nd council meeting of the Hunan Association for International Friendship Contact (HAIFC) was convened in Changsha on Dec. 15, 2010. The provincial leaders Yang Baohua, He Baoxiang and Zhou Shichang attended the meeting.

The HAIFC aims at enhancing international non-governmental exchanges and cooperation and promoting world peace and development. Based on Hunan's realities, it has vigorously carried out non-governmental exchanges between Hunan and other countries, especially the neighboring countries and Southeast Asian countries, and thus greatly deepened their friendship.

Over the past five years, the HAIFC has organized 21 delegations to 19 countries including Japan, South Korea, Greece and Turkey. Meanwhile, it has received visitors to Hunan from more than 30 countries such as Japan and the United States, contributing to the signing of cooperation projects between Hunan-based enterprises and nine foreign enterprises.
