The presentation ceremony of "the Fourth Changsha Yunda Sheraton Teacher Award" was held at the banquet hall of Sheraton Changsha Hotel on the evening of Dec.21.
10 rural teachers such as Mo Fengqi from Union Center Primary School of Western Hunan's Huayuan County won a prize of 50,000 yuan respectively. Yan Yulin from Qingxi Primary School of Baishui Township in South-eastern Hunan's Guiyang County and other nine teachers gained the nomination award and were granted a prize of 5,000 yuan each.
This award was initiated by Hunan Yunda Industry Group Co., Ltd in 2007. The company injected about 10 million yuan to this foundation to commend outstanding rural teachers. All of these honorees are requested to have work experience of five consecutive years or above in middle or primary schools below the county-level in the old revolutionary bases, ethnic minority areas, backward areas and poverty-stricken areas across Hunan Province.
These prize winners include Hunan teachers who work in the countryside areas of other provinces and enjoy the nationwide reputation. On April 9 this year, this award was listed as the most influential charity program of China Charity Award-the highest charity honor given by the Chinese Government.
