Central South University of Forestry & Technology has carried out cooperation with 312 enterprises since 2006 and has successfully launched 274 science and technology projects during the past five years. It resulted in an increase of output value of 21.05 billion yuan (a much better net profit) and the tax collections reached 2.3 billion yuan.
To facilitate the application of its science and technology achievements in the market, the university has enhanced cooperation with relevant research institutes and enterprises, striving to make technological breakthroughs with mutual efforts.
Its key technology of producing a smokeless, non-inflammable, and wood-based composite material won the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. The technology has been adopted by 10 enterprises over the past three years; which has helped in generating output value of 2.75 billion yuan and tax collections of 1.083 billion yuan.
Cooperating with numerous enterprises, the School of Materials Science and Engineering has developed over 20 new bamboo/wood products over the past five years, including bamboo plywood clad with plastics.
These new technologies and products have been promoted in over 10 provinces and cities across China, obtaining an annual production value of over 6 billion yuan.
Professors and experts with outstanding contributions were awarded at the working conference on enterprise-university-institute cooperation held on Dec. 20 in Central South University of Forestry & Technology.
