Gathering in Beijing a special art performance for Chinese and foreigners to celebrate the Spring Festival was held successfully by the Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal Government at the Central Island Theatre in Longtan park of Dongcheng District on the evening of December 19th, with participation of Mr. Zhao Huimin, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, who made a welcome speech, Li Honghai and Zhang Qian,, Deputy Directors of Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal Government, Xiang Ping, Deputy Inspector and Piao Xuedong, the leader of Dongcheng District. Over 500 foreigners, including over 280 foreign diplomatic envoys to China (25 of them are ambassadors and chief representatives), 30 overseas resident correspondents in Beijing, more than 130 experts who have ever won The Great Wall Friendship Awards and foreign experts working in Beijing and 50 representatives of foreign students in China and volunteers from other countries, were invited to enjoy the first Chinese original acrobatic show on ice Aurora of Dreamland.
The whole performance was a fantastic combination of modern idea and traditional arts, which won applauses from foreigners. After the performance, foreign audiences highly praised it and had their photos taken with the actors and actresses one after another. The Algerian ambassador to China said that he just came into office in China a month ago and he was deeply impressed by the amazing performance. Journalists from the Third National Channel of the Netherlands and EPA (European Pressphoto Agency) reported the performance.
