The 2008 International Academic Seminar of Clinical Micro-biology was Held Successfully

On September 16th and 17th, the 2008 International Academic Seminar of Clinical Micro-biology was held in Taoranju Golden Sunshine Hotel in Chongqing. The meeting was hosted by Clinical Laboratory Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association (CMA), the American Chinese Clinical Micro-biology Association, the Chongqing Analytical Society and Chongqing Medical University (CQMU), and was undertaken by the Department of Laboratory Medicine, CQMU. More than 100 representatives from all over China attended the meeting.
Prof. Lei Han, President of CQMU delivered a welcome speech at the meeting. Prof. Shen Ziyu, Chairman of Clinical Laboratory Medicine Center of the Health Ministry addressed the meeting on behalf of the Inspection Branch of the CMA and gave an academic lecture. Prof. Huang Ailong, Vise-president of CQMU also gave an academic lecture. Eleven experts in clinical micro-biology from America, Japan, Canada and Taiwan gave lectures and introduced the latest progress in this field.
The meeting laid special emphasis on the introduction of the academic trends in clinical micro-biology to the colleagues in laboratory medicine of clinical micro-biology in China. The conference covered the testing criteria, testing techniques, quality control and the daily management of laboratory. Participants discussed warmly in the specially arranged discussion period. A discussion session was especially arranged for the representatives, postgraduates and experts to exchange their opinions on certain topics while having breakfast together. The seminar was highly appraised for its various ways of interaction.
The seminar was a high-level academic communication and was an opportunity of study for the people in clinical micro-biology and other related fields.
