Kyorin University Signed Partnership Agreements with GDUFS in Translation Studies

November 24th - On November 22nd, Mr. Song Tian Boqing, President of Kyorin University in Japan, visited our school and signed agreements pertaining to partnerships in translation. The president of GDUFS Zhong Weihe met with the delegation.

After Mr. Zhong welcomed the delegation, he spoke about the close relationship between KyorinUniversity and GDUFS. This visit would give more opportunities for bilateral partnerships. Mr. Zhong shared that GDUFS had just celebrated its 45th anniversary. It has changed from a single foreign language university into a comprehensive multi-disciplinary university. It has become a base for studies in translation, foreign economic trade, and international strategic human resources in Southern China. Not only that, our school size and current level of Japanese language ranks first in Southern China. There are more than 900 students from undergraduate to doctorate degree levels. When you include continuing education students, the number of students learning Japanese is more than 3,000!

Mr. Song Tian expressed his overwhelming gratitude for the warm reception. His humorous remarks made the atmosphere relaxing and harmonious. He spoke about the basic situation of KyorinUniversity, sharing that KyorinUniversity is a comprehensive university with 57 years of history. There are currently four colleges and over 4,700 students. He hopes that through this cooperation the two schools will strengthen bilateral exchanges and expand partnerships with exchange students while continuing to strengthen bilateral partnerships in education. At the end of the ceremony, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement.
