On the afternoon of Oct 28, the university held another work meeting for the upcoming centennial celebrations next week. The university leadership, preparatory groups of each college (department), and specialized groups under the 100th Anniversary Office attended the meeting.
The specialized groups reported their progress of preparations and described their responsibilities to fulfill during the celebrations. Plans concerning the reception of guests and alumni, transportation and parking arrangements, logistic support as well as safety measures were discussed in detail. Duan Xiaoli, Director of the President s Office, and Li Weijian from the University Labor Union put forward their group suggestions for the agenda, venue and audience organization of the Centennial Assembly and the Celebration Gala for decision-making.
Vice-president Wang Hao in charge of the 100th Anniversary Office added further clarifications to the reports of different groups and stressed that all the groups should get very familiar with the schedule and rules of the whole process, and work in coordination. Every group, either under the 100th Anniversary Office, or from colleges shall take up their responsibilities and cooperate in joint efforts to ensure the smooth unfolding of all activities.
CPC Secretary Li Dasheng spoke positively of the preparatory work so far carried out and once again emphasized the importance of safety measures. He asked all functional departments and colleges to circulate updated news to staff members on the progress and procedures of the celebrations so that everyone is involved in this happy occasion and pleasant atmosphere.
