On September 26th 2010, presidents from Colleges of Economics and Management (CEM) of the universities with a totality over 30 in Xi an area participated the eighth joint meeting of presidents from colleges of CEM and the international forum for MBA education in Xi an area. In this forum, there was an exclusive guest Li Yueqing, the former inspector-general of the senior manager training department of China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), and also one of three Chinese launchers of CEIBS. The other participants included Li Zhongmin, the president of the International Business College (IBC) at Shaanxi Normal University (SNNU), Zhou Xiaowei and Lei Hongzhen, the vice presidents of this college, and He Lin, the director of the MBA center and some tutors and students from this college. This adversary committee was initiated and launched by the IBC of SNNU in Qixia Yuan on Yanta campus, and was hosted by Professor Li Zhongmin.
The forum began with Li Yueqing s speech, entitled Learning Capacity and the Career of Business Colleges from the Learning Organization . In his speech, he introduced the successful experiences of CEIBS from different aspects and put emphasis on the importance of the customer-oriented principle in the management and development of business colleges. Li Yueqing wished colleges and universities in the western region of China to learn more about the operation and development of top international business colleges for the sake of their own excellence in the training and development of MBA education.
Afterward was the forum with the internationalization and innovation of the MBA education as its subject. During the forum, each of the presidents made a deep communion based on the status of development of their own colleges, especially that of MBA at present, and its problems and developing mission and vision. All the presidents and deans actively put forward brilliant suggestions for the MBA training and discussed the cause/career of the business college and the grand blueprint of MBA training.
Through this advisory committee, the influence of SNNU and its IBC were greatly expanded in the CEM in Xi an area. Undoubtedly it gave impetus to the improvement of the MBA training at SNNU. (Trans. Wang Miao)
