The President of Jackson State University Visits SNNU

Ronald Mason Jr, president of Jackson State University (JSU) and Chen Meiqi, head of the Office of China Initiatives, took a goodwill visit to our university on June 22^nd and were welcomed by President Fang Yu and Vice President Zhang Jianxiang.

In the evening, President Mason and President Fang held a meeting. Both sides reviewed and summarized the achievements in academic and research cooperation and students exchange since 2006 when the two universities established the partnership. On behalf of our university, President Fang expressed his sincere thanks to President Mason for his efforts in promoting the inter-school communication. President Mason hoped we could continue our friendship and establish partnership with more universities after he became the President of American Southern University and higher education advisor of President Obama. He said he liked SNNU and Xi an. He would continue to consolidate and deepen our partnership in educational cooperation and communication with full efforts.

Next morning, President Mason and Vice President Zhang attended the students forum and had a friendly conversation with the JSU students visiting our university and the students to be sent to JSU soon and those who had returned from JSU. Vice President Zhang concluded by his affirmation and appreciation on the achievements obtained by the students. He encouraged the students to grasp the rare opportunity to improve and exercise themselves and serve as the two universities envoys, even Sino-American educational and cultural envoys so as to meet the needs of future development and make more contributions to promoting the Sino-American communication in education and culture.

After the forum, President Mason, accompanied by Vice President Zhang, reviewed our university s Teacher Professional Ability Develop Centre and College of Internet Education, learning more about our faculty construction, curriculum plan, etc. And he showed intense interest in starting cooperation with us in the above fields.
