University of Erfurt in Germany, which has established friendly and cooperative relationship with Shaanxi Normal University (SNNU), launched a program named Exchange and Study of German Language and Culture inRot-Weiss Erfurt FC Weib for universities all over the world from August 4 to August 25, 2010. In view of the long-term and close relationship with SNNU, University of Erfurt provided a scholarship for young teachers of SNNU. Yu Liang from College of Music, owing to his proficiency of German professional quality, was selected to go to the program in Germany.
The program was wide-ranged in content, diversified in form and full-scheduled in organization, which covered economics, literature, aesthetics, music, movies, grammar, writing, pronunciation, body language, educational theories and many other aspects. There are 56 participants from 32 countries in the program. Learning Yu Liang is a violin teacher, University of Erfurt specially arranged a violin concert for Yu Liang in the Museum of Thuringia. The performance achieved a great success and attracted the attention of local media.
By the end of the program, Yu Liang said he benefited a lot from the program. He expressed his thanks to SNNU, for it values and supports young teachers participating in international exchange, and his thanks to International Programs Office for providing such a good opportunity and its good arrangement. This program has broadened his horizons, enriched him with new educational ideas and deepened his understanding of multiculturalism, which would have a profound effect on his future educational and research career.
