International Symposium on Andrias davidianus Held by SNNU

In order to further expand domestic and foreign communication and cooperation inprotecting and breeding Andrias davidianus,the International Symposium on Andrias davidianus Protection and Breed was held in SNNU on May 31^st, 2010 in the lecture hall Wendaotang of the teaching building. It was organized jointly by our university and ZSL(Zoological Society of Landon), Amphibians and Reptiles Zoological Society(The branch of Chinese Zoological Society), Shaanxi Zoological Society, Shaanxi Aquatic society Shanxi Shaanxi Aquatic Wildlife Care Center and Andrias davidianus Protection and Dvelopment Association in Guanzhong city. More than 70 people, including the wildlife protection experts, scholars, government managers, and the representatives of protected area managers and aquaculture enterprises from England, America, Japan, Australia, International Animal Protection Organization and our country( including Honk Hong and Taiwan) attended the symposium.

This symposium will facilitate the researchers, animal protectors and managers in our country with the understanding of the advanced idea and technique, the latest trends of scientific research on the protection of endangered wildlife. It will also benefit Chinese scientific workers to introduce and recommend the successful experiences on Andrias davidianus manpowered breeding, and enhance the influence of our university internationally, especially in the aspect of life science.
