Water battle Thai ethnic dance
On the morning of April 17, School of International Education, SCUT, held celebration of Songkran Festival for Thai students.
Before the performance was a ceremony of water sprinkling, the tradition of the Thai New Year. Ten girls, in Thailand traditional costumes, presented the leaders and guests with blessing water, meaning good luck in the coming year. After that, traditional snacks were also offered by the Thai students.
The performance was unveiled with Thai ethnic dance Daleegeebud, which presented the Thai culture to the audience. Afterwards, the celebration reached its climax in the joyful water splashing battle.
ZHU Min, vice-president, and LIN Peisen, consul-general, accompanied by personnel of School of International Education, visited C15, foreign students dormitory, and the office building of School of International Education.
