Recently, the first China-EU Seminar on Engineering Education, sponsored by Ministry
of Education and European Engineering Alliance for Research and Education (EEARE),
was held in Shanghai. Representatives from 18 domestic universities that implement the
Education and Cultivation Program for Preeminent Engineers and 13 EEARE members
attended the seminar, discussing how to update engineering education opinions, reform the
teaching pattern and enlarge social cooperation in the context of globalization. The Vice
President, MR. Zha Ming, and leaders from the International Office and Academic Affaires
Office of China University of Petroleum (Huadong) attended the seminar and joined the
signing ceremony between Ministry of Education and EEARE. CUP became one of the
initial members of China-EU Platform of Engineering Education .
18 Chinese universities that are included in the platform are: Tongji University, Harbin
Institute of Technology, Tianjin University, Tsinghua University, Xi an Jiaotong
University, Dalian University of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and
Technology, Southeast University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University,
South China University of Technology, University of Science and Technology Beijing,
Beijing Jiaotong University, China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing
University of Posts and Telecommunications, East China of Science and Technology,
Sichuan University.13 European universities are: KTH Royalty Institute of Technology
(Sweden), Aalto University (Finn land), cole Polytechnique F d rale de Lausanne
(Sweden), University Karlsruhe (German), Darmstadt University of Technology (German),
Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherland), Catholic University of Louvain
(Belgium), Trinity College Dublin(Ireland), Universitat Polit cnica de Catalunya(Spain) , Technical University of Lisbon(Portugal), Institut National Polytechnique
de Grenoble (France ) , Politecnico di Torino(Italy), ESADE Business School (Spain)
