SDU Delegation Attended the 3rd ASEAN-CHINA Rector s Conference

From March 30th to 31st, the 3rd ASEAN-CHINA Rector s Conference with the theme of ASEAN-CHINA: Sharing Wisdom, Bridging People s Minds , hosted by the University of Malaya, was held in the Avillion Resort, Port Dickson, Malaysia. Vice-president Fan Liming of SDU attended the conference.

In the conference, Fan made constructive suggestions on future cooperation between ASEAN and Chinese universities. After a brief introduction of the situation of cooperation between SDU and some ASEAN universities, Fan expressed her willingness to strengthen cooperation through Chinese teaching programs, long-term or short-term teachers and students exchanges, network courses, and project training such as disaster relief and epidemic control. Also, Fan talked with President Ghauth Jasmon of the University of Malaya, and President Tan Chorh Chuan of the National University of Singapore. The conference was cosponsored by the ASEAN University Network and China s Ministry of Education. 70 representatives from 22 ASEAN universities and 15 Chinese universities attended the conference.

From March 31^st to April 2^nd, Fan visited the Confucius Institute of Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, and met with Chinese Education Counselors in Singapore and SDU alumni there.

The Rector s conference is an important part of the ASEAN-CHINA Academic Exchange Program . The 4^th conference will be held by the National University of Singapore. Vice-president Zhang Yun of SDU attended the 2^nd conference in Hanoi.
