Visit by the President of the National University of Mongolia (NMU)

On August 4th, President Tumur-Ochir of the National University of Mongolia visited SDU. President Xu Xianming met with the guest. They exchanged ideas about enlarging the scope of cooperation so as to promote it to a higher level, based on what had been achieved through establishing the Confucius Institute and carrying out student exchanges.

Xu briefed Tumur-Ochir on the present situation of SDU, advantageous academic subjects, future development plan, and especially introduced the subjects of Literature and History with SDU characteristic, the university atmosphere of traditional Chinese culture, and the Advanced Institute for Confucian Studies founded in April. Tumur-Ochir introduced the present situation and future development plan of NMU. He highly appreciated the work done by the Confucius Institute in serving Mongolian society. He wished to strengthen cooperation between the two universities under the present cooperative framework through the platform provided by the Confucius Institute.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Exhibition for the 10th Anniversary of SDU, and also the College of International Education. In the College, they were briefed on the education of foreign students, building of the Confucius Institute, cultivation of international Chinese teaching personnel, and international Chinese teaching volunteers. Representatives from relevant departments were also present at the meeting.
