From April 12th to 16th, Prof. Yin Wei, Vice-President, attended the 5th APAIE 2010 held in Golden Coast, Australia. Yin Wei attended the opening ceremony and attended the Round Table meeting for the Presidents and Asia-Pacific International Educational Exhibition, conducted exchanges and had discussions with the representatives of its overseas partner universities: Hanyang University, Korea, Augsburg University, Germany, Lingnan University, Hong Kong, and Taiwan University. In the meeting, APAIE, EAIE and NAFSA signed a Letter of Intent, formed the largest International Educational Alliance and built a broader co-operational platform for exchange and cooperation among universities around the world. During the visit in Australia, Yin Wei also visited the University of Adelaide and the University of Queensland. She met with Prof. John Taplin, Pro-vice Chancellor of the University of Adelaide and reviewed the exchange programs of students and scholars and how to further strengthen the link. Yin Wei also met with the exchange students and visiting scholars of Shandong University in the University of Adelaide, and introduced the recent development of SDU. At Adelaide, she visited the Confucius Institute jointly established by Shandong University and the University of Adelaide. During the visit to University of Queensland, Yin Wei met Prof. Anna Ciccarelli, the Pro-vice Chancellor for international affairs and was briefed of the university and discussed about the cooperation between the two universities. Yin Wei had a brief meeting with SDU exchange students who were studying at the university and shared with the students the update development of SDU and the students study and campus life in Queensland.
