Amount of Foreign students hits 200 in 2008

September 12 saw a new term opening ceremony for 200 foreign students who were enrolled by CUP from 15 countries.

Prof. Wang Ruihe attends the ceremony and made a short speech. He hopes all the foreign students work hard and participate in campus lives vigorously. While complying with Chinese laws and campus regulations, the students are encouraged to know of China and understand Chinese culture and students are expected to be the friendship messengers between different forms of culture.

5 kinds of scholarships are awarded on the rite. They are: Outstanding Undergraduate Scholarship, HSK Superior Scholarship, Excellent Work Staff Award, Sports Individual Award and Arts Individual Award.

CUP has made great progress in enrolling foreign students in recent years. The amount of student source countries is expanding; the educational qualifications of students are increasing and the popularization of degree pursuing in students is deepening gradually.
