SDU Attended the 4th International Student Conference on Advanced Science and Technology

From May 22nd to 28th, a delegation of 7 from SDU, led by Deputy Dean Sang Xiaomin of the Graduate School, attended the 4th International Student Conference on Advanced Science and Technology (ICAST), which was co-organized by Ege University, Turkey and Kumamoto University, Japan.

During the conference, Sang discussed about establishing an international student exchange and academic cooperation mechanism with representatives from Ege University. Both President Isao Taniguchi of Kumamoto University and President Atilla Silku of Ege University remarked on the same issue. Several famous scholars such as Prof. Nalan Kabay and Prof. Motonobu Goto reported on the prospects of related subjects. The Ph.D. students in the SDU delegation attended the sub-meetings and made oral reports. The conference functioned as a platform for communication of knowledge and exchange of culture.

The ICAST, aiming at enhancing the understanding, friendship and exchanges among international students and young scholars, was started by Kumamoto University. The present Conference collected more than 650 scientific and technical papers, covering subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. It was attended by more than 100 scholars and students from 9 countries. The delegation from SDU was the only Chinese delegation invited.
