President Gong Ke Met with Foreign Experts on the Construction of Tianjin University's New Campus

On September 17, 2010, President GONG Ke met with Professor Harrison Fraker, a renowned expert from the Department of Urban Design, College of Environmental Design, the University of California at Berkeley, and listened to his suggestions to the construction of Tianjin University s new campus. Professor Fraker was very excited that Tianjin University is going to build a new campus. He expressed that universities were the most desirable place to carry out the plan of a ecological design and gave his opinions on the possibility of realizing low energy consumption and sustainability including water, electricity, heating, cooling supplies on the new campus. Professor Fraker is an acknowledged pionner in utilizing passive solar energy and sunlight, and in the design and research on sustainable buildings. He got several awards for his innovative building design and urban planning, and has long been engaged in teaching and practising his beliefs in integrated systems.
