Professor Flemming Besenbacher, Head of Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center at University of Aarhus (iNANO), was awarded an honorary professorship at Tianjin University on Janurary 7, 2008. After receiving the letter of appointment from Vice President YANG Xianjin, Prof. Flemming Besenbacher held discussions on academic collaboration with professors from School of Chemical Engineering, and gave a lecture on nano technology.
Professor Flemming Besenbacher is recognized worldwide for his innovative contribution in the field of surface physics and nanomaterials. He is Elected Fellow of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letter, the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences, and the Danish Academy of Natural Sciences.
