TU Students Attend 2007 George Bush China-U.S. Relations Conference

Two Tianjin University students, Mr. ZHANG Yu (Phd candidate at School of Precision Instrument and Optoelectronics Engineering) and Ms. LI Xiaoqian (Master candidate at School of Chemical Engineering) were invited to attend 2007 George Bush China-U.S. Relations Conference: Development, Energy and Security held in Washington D.

C. from Oct. 22nd to 25th. They actively participated in the sessions of the conference, and fully communicated with celebrates as well as the U.S. students on China-U.S. Relations, politics and economics. Their elegant talking, swift thinking and good manners were praised by leaders and celebrities of both China and the U.

S. George Bush China-U.S. Relations Conference was initiated by the Ex-President of the U.S. George Bush in 2003. It is a civilian conference on relations between the two countries with the highest level participants. For the 2007 conference, The Ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Li Zhaoxing and Former President of the United States George Bush headed a delegation of top-level officials on each side to discuss the bilateral relationships between their two countries.

As one highlight of this conference, 40 students in total from China and the U.S. were invited to attend the conference, enabling them to exhibit their elegant bearing at a high-level international stage with the identity of future leaders of bilateral relations and civil cultural ambassador. They were also offered the opportunity of meeting with Ex-Minister Li Zhaoxing and the Ex-President George Bush.
