An exhibition is unveiled to show the contemporary running script

Sponsored by China Calligraphers Association, an exhibition of the contemporary running script, entitled Like walk and dance , is currently on display at Hall 7 until Sept.16. The exhibition comprises a variety of calligraphic works by a total of 29 members from the running script committee affiliated to China Calligraphers Association.

This exhibition is named after Like Walk and Dance to boast the unique style of the running and cursive script. The rapid development of the running and cursive script in modern time is obvious. The integration between the running script and the cursive script is an inevitable result of the times. The combination not only reflects the chirography feature of walk and dance , but also injects new vitality to creation.

The trend has been a mark for a new age. In the 21st century, the calligraphic creation especially the running and cursive script is achieving freedom, dynamism and emotional feeling. The new calligraphy is boasting a brand-new artistic form breaking the chirography boundary.

Most of 29 artists are renowned calligraphers with remarkable achievements in the field of the running script sector across the country as the main force of the contemporary calligraphy writing. The exhibits vividly reflect the unique style and the relentless devotion of the artists, and fully embody the overall requirements of carrying forward the tradition, encouraging innovation, and varied styles advocated by the Chinese Calligraphers Association.
