The Dubai government s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) have opened their new representative office in Sydney, Australia.
The new DTCM office is aimed to work on the expanding the Emirate s reach into the Australia and New Zealand market. Saleh Mohammed Al Geziry, director, Overseas Promotions, DTCM, was quoted in Travel Daily Asia as having said that Australia and New Zealand are very important markets for Dubai. The number of guests in Dubai hotel establishments from Australia rose to 158,907 in 2010, a 5.9% increase over 2009, and from New Zealand, this figure rose to 31,904, representing a 15.2% increase.
