On the afternoon of Mar. 11, Vice President LI Lin held a warm meeting to welcome President CLAUDE GUILLERMET, and Vice President BELAHCENE MAZARI of French Rouen Higher Institute of Electric Power Engineer (FRHIEPE). It is the second visit that BELAHCENE MAZARI paid to SCUT this year and he hoped to start mutual cooperation in electronics, electronic information, automation, aerospace, etc, and to strengthen the joint cultivation of doctoral students between the two universities.

Facts about FRHIEPE: Founded in 1901, French Rouen Higher Institute of Electric Power Engineer is located in Rouen, a city 150 kilometers westwards from Paris. It is among the French elite schools, and a well-known higher institute in science and engineering recognized by the French Government and Chinese Ministry of Education.

At present, the school has nearly 1,000 students and boasts a teacher faculty including 40 full-time teachers and nearly 100 part-time teachers from other universities and industrial circles. The school is supported by Rouen Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Its curriculums are organized in accordance with a highly internationalized teaching methodology which is closely related to enterprises and corporations.
