Five SCUT teachers listed in One Thousand Talent Introduction Project

Recently, the Organization Department of CPC Central Committee announced the 2nd batch of people selected in last year's One Thousand Talent Introduction Project, short for "The Project of Introduction of Overseas High-level Talents", initiated in December, 2008 by the Central Committee. Five SCUT teachers were listed in the project. Among them, four were selected from the key disciplines while one from the key laboratories.

According to the project, in the next 5 to 10 years, about 2,000 talents will be introduced for the development of national key innovative projects, key disciplines and laboratories, central enterprises, and state-owned business & financial organizations. Besides, a batch of scientists and high-level talents who are capable of tackling key technological problems, promoting high-tech industries and developing new disciplines can receive financial support for their pioneering undertaking in the country.

The SCUT teachers listed in the project are:
JIANG Jian-er, state key laboratory of pulp and paper making engineering, recommended by the School of Light Industry and Food Science;
WU Qinghua, electric power system & its automation, recommended by the School of Electric Power;
SU Chunyi, control science & engineering, recommended by the School of Automation Science and Engineering;
Mikhail Eremets, material physics & chemistry, recommended by the School of Sciences and School of Material Science & Engineering;
JING Naiheng, applied mathematics, recommended by the School of Sciences.
