On Nov. 9, 2005, CNR Changchun Railway Vehicle Co., Ltd. was awarded a contract of supply 34 sets of 204 stainless steel-bodied metro cars for Line 10 of Beijing Subway. This is the second stainless metro car project after Line 5 of Beijing Subway.
Line 10 and Olympic lateral is the 10th line planed in Beijing rapid rail transmission network. The line length is 32.9 km, among which 32.05 km is underground and 0.85 km is on the ground. The first phase construction is length of 24.55 km from Wanliu to Jinsong. A Olympic lateral of 5.91 km will be built from Anding Road. There are 26 station in line.
The newtrains will be formed of 3 motor cars and 3 trailers. The seating capacity is 1,468 and the max. capacity is 1,880. The first delivery is scheduled for January 2007. The train features modular design, digital brake control system, long life and easy maintain.
