Last year, Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group Co., Ltd increased technology development, enhanced independent innovation & integration capability, and achieved fruitful results. Throughout the year, R&D investment rate reached 3.9%; the Group received 338 patents, among which 138 invention patents. The Group gained 169 million yuan in profit. Of the 19 technical innovation award winning projects in Baosteel last year, Baosteel Engineering was involved in 11 of them. Among them, "high-speed ultra-thin plate cold continuous rolling technique and complete equipment set research and development" which Baosteel Engineering participated in won the top award, "Bayi Steel medium and heavy plate electricity telecommunication and broadcast equipment independent integration" which Baosteel Engineering took charge of won the second prize. In the industry rating, the 16 projects which Baosteel Engineering was responsible for won the national metallurgical industry outstanding design award in 2010, including 4 first prize. 19 projects won prizes in the 19th national invention exhibition, among which 5 golden award and 5 silver award. In Paris International Invention Exhibition," electrical equipment winding electrical heating dipping laquer UV curing technology" patent won golden prize.
In the field of iron and steel works, independently integrated Hyundai 300 -ton LF refining complete equipment for the first time, successfully developed new steel ladle whole process covering technology and equipment and formed full range 80 to 300 tons RH complete set technology and equipment supply capabilities.
In the IT field, MES and iCV realized the serialization and standardized development and were applied in road tunnel bridge, energy, environmental protection and rail transportation. Mechanical and electrical integrated products with Baosteel independent intellectual property rights received prominent market efficiency. Baosteel Engineering completed the commercialization of 57 portable cover furnaces and more than 60 printing machines.
In the field of steel technical services and equipment manufacturing, Baosteel Engineering developed thermal spray technology and condition monitoring diagnostic devices and software, offering steel products quality control forecasting.
