A signing ceremony of the Cooperative Frame Agreement on Reconstruction of Quake-Hit Area was held in Deyang on December 29 between MCC Chenggong Construction Co., Ltd. (5MCC) and Deyang Municipal Government. Leaders of Deyang City and 5MCC General Manager Meng Changjia were present at this event.
At the ceremony, Meng made a passionate speech. He said, as an enterprise located in Sichuan and directly controlled by central authorities, 5MCC had established itself into the only one large-sized construction enterprise with two top qualifications during the past 60 years since its foundation. Nowadays 5MCC ranks the top among the construction enterprises in Sichuan in terms of the comprehensive strength. Over past decades, 5MCC has made outstanding contributions to national key projects as well as the economic development of Sichuan Province. Meng pointed out that, the proposed cooperation on reconstruction of the quake-hit area in Deyang was a great effort made by both sides to benefit the society and the people. In this view, 5MCC would carry out the project with quality and efficiency, so as to restore and enhance the well-being of the local people and to help them resume production, thus furthering economic growth in Deyang.
Vice Mayor Xiao Longxi of Deyang Municipal Government spoke highly of the wonderful performance of 5MCC in the earthquake relief work. Deyang suffered a huge loss in the catastrophic earthquake. At such a critical moment of reconstruction, it was the greatest blessing for the people in the disaster-hit area to receive firm support extended by large enterprises such as 5MCC. He sincerely hoped that both sides would be committed to forging a promising future of Deyang.
Pursuant to the Agreement, 5MCC is to cooperate with Deyang Municipal Government as an investor. Within the scope of reconstruction planning for Deyang, 5MCC will through various construction projects build infrastructures, public facilities, and roads and revamp the existing town, with a total investment amount of RMB 3.5 billion yuan.
